These Terms constitute the End User License Agreement (EULA) between you and the developer of Clause. Apple is not a party to this EULA.
Clause is an iOS application that uses optical character recognition (OCR) and artificial intelligence to analyze legal documents and help users understand potential risks before signing. The App is designed for informational purposes only.
The App is not a law firm. The analysis provided is not legal advice. Always consult a qualified attorney before signing any legal document.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple-branded device you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.

The Pay Per Document purchase grants a single analysis credit. This credit is consumed upon completing one document analysis and does not roll over or reset monthly.
Free users receive 1 analysis per calendar month. This resets at the start of each calendar month.
All billing is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple's purchase terms apply.
The analysis, summaries, risk scores, and insights generated by the App are produced by AI and are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created by use of the App.
The App may miss clauses, misinterpret provisions, or produce inaccurate results. Legal documents are complex. Always have an attorney review any contract before signing.
The App uses Anthropic's Claude API for document analysis. AI models can produce errors, hallucinations, or incomplete analysis. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any AI-generated output.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, including that document text is transmitted to Anthropic's servers for AI processing. By using the App, you consent to this processing.
All content, design, code, and branding in the App is the property of the developer and is protected by intellectual property laws. The App name "Clause" and associated branding may not be used without written permission.
AI-generated analysis outputs produced for your documents are provided to you for your personal use.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App if you breach these Terms. You may terminate your use at any time by deleting the App. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees paid.
The App integrates with third-party services including Firebase (Google), Anthropic, Google Sign-In, and Apple. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms:

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
